Charitable works
Rokill/Rocare staff raised £1026 through a raffle and other games at the Christmas party the money will be donated to the Dorset’s Deaf Children’s Society.
Brian Duffin Rokill's Chief Technical Officer recently completed a parachute jump, he raised £510 for Heatherlands Primary School in Poole, he confirmed it was the most exhilarating and exciting experience he had ever taken part in and confirmed he would definitely not be doing it ever again!! Well done to Brian.
Rokill's very own Marathon runner and Ironman Stan Tedford raised £2,250 for Jeans for Genes by completing the London Marathon in 2007. In 2008 Stan intends to raise money for the Youth Cancer Trust by competing in the Jurassic Coast Marathons - 3 marathons on 3 consecutive days in March along Dorset's Jurassic Coastline, we wish Stan well.
Commitment to the Environment ISO140001
Rokill have invested in improving our environmental policies and procedures and our robust new system will be externally audited for ISO14001 accreditation within the next 3 months.
Fluorescent tubes from electronic fly killers should be replaced annually. Tubes from units serviced by Rokill are collected and returned to our head office for recycling through an approved scheme to ensure compliance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment regulations that came into force in July 2007. We have recently purchased a Cardboard & plastic compactor and waste is crushed and recycled. Batteries and printer cartridges are also recycled.
Health & Safety
Rospa award we won a 4th Gold award in May 2007 and it is our ambition to achieve a 5th gold award for occupational health & safety in 2008, this achievement would result in the award of a special Rospa Gold medal for 5 consecutive gold Health & Safety awards.
ISO18001 OHSAS
We have reviewed our Health& Safety policies and procedures and these will be externally audited for ISO18001 OHSAS accreditation within the next 3 months
