The Gold Medal (9 consecutive Golds) award will be presented at a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel, at the National Exhibition Centre, on Thursday, May 17, 2012.
Dating back to 1956, the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards scheme is the largest and longest-running programme of its kind in the UK. It recognises commitment to accident and ill health prevention and is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas. The scheme does not just look at accident records, but also entrants’ overarching health and safety management systems, including important practices such as strong leadership and workforce involvement.
David Rawlins, awards manager at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), a safety charity with a 95-year history, said: “The RoSPA Awards programme provides well-deserved recognition for the winners and spurs on other organisations to raise their standards of accident and ill health prevention. We congratulate Rokill Ltd on its success and encourage it, and all our other winners, to remain committed to safety and health, an approach that is well recognised to be good for workers and the bottom line.”
Director Chris Turner is delighted That Rokill has been recognised for the 9th time. Health and Safety is an integral part of the service provided by Rokill and the award recognises the hard work and commitment of the whole Rokill team”
The majority of RoSPA’s awards are non-competitive, marking achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Organisations maintaining high standards can win gold medals, president’s awards and orders of distinction.
Competitive awards are presented in more than 20 sectors, and specialist awards recognise excellence in specific areas, such as the management of occupational road risk.

A breakdown of the replies can be seen below. The winner of the bottle of Champagne was Richard Fry (on the right) of Framptons Transport, Shepton Mallet who is shown below accepting his bottle from Rokill Area Surveyor, Stan Tedford (left).

We're Football Crazy!
The Royal Warrant Holders Association Five-A-Side Football Competition was held at The Royal Hospital Chelsea, Burton Court on Saturday 20th June 2009. Our Team displayed their skills and fitness (top row from left to right: Chris Rankin, Richard Smith, Andy Jackson, Scott Reynolds (Bird). Bottom Row left to right: Dave Bolderstone, Toby Legg (Captain), Paul Downham (Bird), Dave Collins (Bird)

Our intrepid athletes were slightly unfortunate in being drawn to play the winners of last year's competition, DHL but they put up a brave fight and lost 3 - 0. They won the next 1 - 0 and drew the next 0 - 0. Unfortunately Scott sustained an injury and played no further part on the pitch but he did manage to start on the beers before the other guys!
They were then put forward for the HRH Prince Henry of Wales Shield where they improved as a team (they had only practiced once) with better communication and despite the warmth sapping their energies, managed to get to the semi finals before losing on penalties.
Everyone played their hearts out and Dave Bolderstone was running around like a whippet for most of the day!
